I’m Jeff McQuilkin, a musician, songwriter, freelance writer, compulsive blogger and all-around creative type guy in Denver, Colorado. My wife of 22 years is a professional photographer. My son of 20 years is a filmmaker. (Like I said–creative types all around. Or something like that.) My tongue is often in my cheek, but my heart’s usually in the right place.

The Developing Artist is a place for encouragement and advice for musicians who are “making a go” of it, whether full-time or part-time. Practical advice that will encourage and challenge performing artists to be all they can be–interwoven, of course, with my own snarky opinions and slightly off-center sense of humor.
